My Work

FLUX - Fall 2022 Print Issue

This print issue was a privilege to work on, beginning with the pitching phase, to theme development, typography creation, and going through the project management process to the final print. FLUX explores themes of nature and change and the beauty that embodies these concepts in the physical and metaphorical world. Each layout was designed with a strong attention to detail to ensure a sense of tranquility when reading about how volatile change is necessary for global and personal development.

Summer Camp - Spring 2022 Print Issue

The theme of this issue combines the nostalgia of days climbing trees at summer camp with the bold imperfection displayed in the fashion world. The overall design was made to reflect this unordinary aesthetic. Using primarily Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, the typography of the cover title and unique design interpretations were exciting challenges to embrace in my first semester as Design Chief.

Homecoming- Fall 2021 Print Issue

This layout was for an article entitled "Here to Stay." While the Homecoming issue was both a love letter and commentary on "homecoming" and high school culture, "Here to Stay" described the yearning to return to your hometown. The writer and photographer wanted to capture a contrast between the modern city lifestyle and small town culture; something I tried to capture by using a modern design compared to the rest of the print issue.

A-Line Magazine Test Layout

This layout was created as a sample combining what I would bring to the organization in a leadership role with my personal design style.

Newsletters for A-Line Magazine

In my role of Online Editor for A-Line Magazine, I had the responsibility of designing and delivering weekly newsletters to communicate the arrival of new content on behalf of the organization. Each newsletter was designed to reflect the brand of the organization, as well as the content and season at the time of delivery.

A-Line Magazine Social Media Content

The goal behind these designs was to display the A-Line Magazine brand to peek interest in potential new members. As the brand has evolved in my time as Design Chief, we have solidified the editorial high-end fashion magazine aesthetic as the "look" through which we represent ourselves.

Ether - Application Prototype

Throughout this two week engineering competition, I led a team of multidisciplinary engineers through the design process. The prompt was to propose a solution to effectively contact trace people in exposed to COVID-19. We achieved the first place prize.

The proposed solution involved a phone application the public could download (the prototype shown below) capable of connecting with air sensors placed in business establishments and potentially public transportation. The app would track the user's location, notify users of exposure, and display air quality percentages of viruses and allergens, adaptable to new emergences. We presented this concept outlining the design, impact, and risks. I assumed the responsibility of designing the application prototype with Adobe XD and final presentation.
